Rousing Fun

What's exciting the life of Miss Trixie Karinski at the moment....

The Cardigans :
Whoo! They are on their way back.  I've been watching this webpage for months and it's been gradually filling up with information.  Although ridiculously long, I insanely love the title of their new single, I need some fine wine, and you, you need to be nicer.  I don't think I gave Long Before Daylight as much attention as I should have when it was released.   When You Kissed Me has to be up there as one of the most beautiful songs out there.

Clor
: The album 'Clor' is out today, and it is brill.   Quirky, indie mixes seemlessy with beats, bops and quirky electronic twinges.

Razzamatazz :  Recently discovered, currently up there with my favourite Pulp songs.

Projectile Vomiting : The cherry has been popped. A big thank you must go to the very lovely Blue Aftershock.  High five.

Brighton Pride  : We're off to Brighton to DJ at Brighton Pride. How cool is that!

Camembert : It's a type of cheese... of course I'm excited!

Doctor Who : Thanks go to the BBC for continuing their theme of spoilering Doctor Who.  But still it's made me excited about it again.  Only 4 months to go. Groan.

Self Indulgent Guff

This weekend I went back with the best friend to the motherland to have fun, frolics and visit the family.

Every time I go back it becomes more and more apparnant that there is very little reason to go back. I've taking a different path in life from those who are still there and it's very apparant when hooking up with old friends that we just have nothing in common anymore.

Once upon a time, I couldn't even imagine myself leaving my hometown and the clubs and the fun behind, but now I can't imagine any reason for being there.

Current life is, to be overly enthusiasic, just *fabulous* and I have both the best friend a girl could ever wish for and other excellent friends surrounding me.

Wow, this is sounding like the kind of super indulgent guff that I hate so much from one blogger (i'll spare the link), but to that, all I say is BOSH BOSH BOSH, Pigeon!, BELGOROBOT SAYS XXXX, *tear.

Am I talking too fast or are you just playing dumb?

Due to Thursday's events in London, getting to the club was a bit difficult, so we were less busy than normal.  However what they lacked in numbers, they made up in spirit.  It led us to being a bit less inclined to play the core tracks and deviate a little, which made it a bit more fun!

Deano’s After Dark

Tonight we hopped on the Victoria and the District lines, and waggled our merry arses over to the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith to see some comedy.   Former Perrier winners, Richard Ayoade and Matthew Holness, and creaters of 2004's Channel 4 cult show Garth Merenghi's Dark Place were trying out new material for their forthcoming show "Deano's After Dark".

The idea of the show is Deano (from Dark Place) hosting a chat show with his celebrity friends (all played by Matthew Holness).   According to one friend who we saw it with, it simply reeked of a bad Alan Partridge copy.  The material was very weak and it simply dragged.  An unexpected interval in the 70 minute performance was a huge relief.

Given I remember liking Dark Place (although I don't think I saw it all), this was simply disappointing.  One can only hope that they find some good material before the show proper gets made.

New York New York

Stonewall, originally uploaded by trixie.

I've recently been watching quite a bit of the American Apprentice. One thing I loved about the Sugar version (and believe me there were many things) was the aerial shots of London. Now watching the Trump version and seeing lots of New York, I'm filled with an even stronger desire to go back to the city. Hell, I managed to wait 23 years to go, and now I can't wait a year to go again.

Roll on the autumn for next spring offers please British Airways.

Completely off topic, I've just had a haircut. And it's the first one where I didn't hate it for the rest of the day. But I still had the, must run to a mirror, and flick it about myself, because the hairdresser has made it ming, type of feeling :-)

Del.icio.us

I've had an account with del.icio.us , a tagged bookmark system for some time now, but never really put it into use. This was mainly it spewed it's results onto a page that no-one would ever have any need/desire to look out.

But now, thanks to some investigative googling from a frenchman by the name of Paul, I've just set it up to spew onto here with links daily. So now I can share cool links, and there can be some content other than my self-indulgent playlisting.

Rock on dingbats! (Oh that was just a random choice of word, but now I'm filled with a desire to play Dingbats, and I can't even remember the concept.)
