There’s only one thing more

There's only one thing more powerful than evil, and that's us. Any questions?

Yes buffy, whats going on with spike, you bitch?.

Here we go again:

1. Kylie Minogue - Celebration: Track off her recently brought out PWL greatest hits. A cover of the 1980 Kool & the Gang classic, this reached no 20 in November 1990. Its pretty much a direct cover, no instrumental changes merely the vocal. Never actually heard Kylie's version before listening to this album. Its all very pleasant and all but nothing amazing. Sound like the type of song you would sing in a encore at a concert, but most def not a single! What was she thinking!
I can't say I can see the whole Kylie attraction at all. Sure she does a good job at being sexy but I cant say I look at her and think hmm if i were a lesbian ... i would.

2. Shakira - Rules: Not heard this before, taken from her Laundry Servicealbum. Starts with a bit more of a rocky feel than her other her, but then seems to turn into something that wouldn't be unusual to find on ABBAs More Gold album although you do have the whole strange accent going on. I dunno Shakira's voice seems totally different when she does the lower notes that the higher. Nat & I found whenever, whereever very amusing & I like Underneath your clothes a lot.

3. Jennifer Lopez - Jenny from the block. The hilarious, but unbelievably catchy latest song from J-lo has to go down (and I feel terrible saying this) as one of my favourite songs from the year. I cannot stand the woman... I think she is a complete & utter ho! But c'mon guys, we gotta remember than she came from the Bronx and stop giving her a hard time. Yeah right :-) Everytime I listen to this song I can't work out whether she is just taking the piss cos the lyrics are that ridiculous or if she really is being serious. Also what the chuff is going on with calling "ain't it funny" a remix and rereleasing it when its neither the same lyrics nor the same song as the former release! Eh eh??? And I am still utterly confused as to how she keeps winning all these sexiest women awards! HOTor NOT

4. Sarah Connor - Let's go back to bed, boy. Featuring TQ, this reached no 16 in Nov 2001. It had a lot of airplay on my beloved Rock FM but haven't heard anything else from her since. Was alright, bit of a fun song. Think she might be big in Europe.. dunno.. dont care!

5. Darren Hayes - What You like. He o savage garden fame. Slightly dubious lyrics. "tell me what you like so tonight i can get it right" hmm what you upto boy! Deciding what to wear.. me thinks not! It sounds nothing like it but this is making think of Walking in Memphis... i'm going insane INSANE! Play some good music you stupid winamp crap!

6. Tina Turner - Private Dancer . Hmm. I get the feeling I should know this. Hmm no 26 in Nov 84. Maybe not. I was only 2! Can't say i'm particularly fascinated by it.

7. Love Inc - You're a superstar Whoo something in the current charts. Number 7 in fact. I got this track back in December 2001 recommended to me via some web forums. Apparantly they are from Canada & this song came out about 3 years ago! Anyway I wasn't too keen on it at first but now like it a lot. Perfect track towards the end of the night... played it at The Syndicate 2 weeks ago & it went down a storm. However, and a year ago, you would never have heard this coming from me... dance has gone far too cheesy atm. Can we please have some decent non-vocal-shit now!

8. Craig David - Hands up in the air. Even the name makes me think this is bad, never mind it being from everyone's favourite name reminding chappie. Has a slight sound of 7 days to it. I really can't stand this dude apart from his new track Hidden Agenda which is sweet. I saw the video for it today, mind you, and I decided that he really is quite foul looking. He has a vague look of a black Alex Grainger although Alex isnt quite as rank!

9. Jakatta feat Seal - My vision ( Summer in White edit) : From MoS Chillout Session 2003. I love this song. Although I think I prefer the normal radio edit. Seal has a lovely voice & I will always remember him from Kiss from a Rose, which was one of my favourite songs when a teenager!

10. Snow - Informer - During a "Argh! I'm djing score in 2 hours download frenzy" Carys told me to download this track. I had no idea that this what it actually was. I remember it well though... number 2 in 1993. But really Informer.. a blah blah blah a licky boom boom down I mean really? WTF?

To burn: Snow - Informer : Remind yourself of the class of the early 1990s and the randomness of the lyrics!
To bin! : Craig David - Hands up in the air Tough toss up btw this & darren hayes. I think David wins though just because he has two first names as his whole name. yes . good valid reason there.

C y'all later! Trix xx

When you’re a clone,

When you're a clone, you know you're never alone

Yes thanks for that lyric, S Club.

I've just seen something very funky on someone elses blog so am planning to thank them & nick the idea :)

Basically i have all my songs on my computer in a winamp playlist so I'm going to put it on random and then write a little bit about each song that comes up.  So if people reading my site see songs they don't have and go get them & like them then we are spreading good (hopefully) music a little further & if everyone starts doing it then we are all gonna find new songs, and it will inspire me to write about random things!  Whoo yay.

Here goes (/me hits shuffle)

10 random thoughts about 10 random songs

1.  Culture Club - Karma Chameleon : Ooh here's an unknown one to start off the spread of not too popular tracks.  yeah fab.  So Culture Club, a decadance favourite, and all round party choon.  FYI ye old grads, decadance as you probably know disappeared and the union turned wednesday nights into Score which i sometimes dj. Decadance is being brought back tho in the form of Neon. ( ARGH and function has been turned into Reckless).

Boy George actually was at my 6th (i think) birthday party.  My dad was in the same hospital as him when it came to the big day and I went to see him & all the "inmates" gave me a little bday type halfhour and boy george was there!!! he gave me a heart shaped soap.  How I treasured it.

2.  The Corrs - Everybody Hurts : Loved this first time i heard it on some tv show and still do.  I absolutely adored the Corrs when i was about 15 and only recently started listening to their music again.  Forgiven, not forgotten is my favourite of their albums and most definatly worth a listen!  Oh and by the way Simon, stop defining Russ' music tastes by The Corrs ;)

3. Will Young - Evergreen :   The winner of the UK pop idol.  yeah blah blah we all know everything there is to know.  Will rocks tho ... and the album ain't bad either.

4. Elton John - Island Girl :    I liked Elton John, I liked him a lot, even after the whole diana eyebrow incident.  I liked him so much I put the greatest hits album on at work.  Unfortunatly it stayed there for 2 weeks.  I now hate Elton John.  I will go mad if I hear him again.  End.

5. Blue - U make me wanna :  Off the new One Love album.  I love Blue i really do.  Call me sad liking pure pop but have you seen Duncan!!!I mean really!!! Grrh Argh & a half! (the one on the right, not funnyface!) Not the best song on the album... For that check out the fantastic dr dre sampling "Supersexually" or ubersexually as it sometimes known in the crazyworld!

6. Dont Stop - Dolphin Boy :  A random track off the MoS chillout session 2003.  This presents a female vocalist who sounds like a cross btw Bjork & Macy Gray (?1?).  Nothing special.

7. Loving every minute - The lighthouse family :  The band who managed to make every single song sound the same :-).  Quite like this actually.  Reminds me of cycling round my area in London back in 95/6.   Lifted & High were constantly on Capital back then.

8. I think we're alone now - Pascal feat Karen Parry :  Oh dear god. Sweet Lord NOOOOOOOOO.  Flip & Fill strike again.  I swear to god shoot them  Find them & shoot them.  Ruining every song ever going.  I'm not too keen on the original but I still need to punish them for completely wrecking BANG! 's Shooting Star.  If you can find a copy of that take a listen. happy hardcore at its best, just for teej.  Grrh its keeping going.  SHUT UP .. SHUT UP... /me shuts it up.

9. My world - Avril Lavigne   Track from the fantastic Let Go album.  We were listening to this back in June in HMV and loved it then, love it now.  Unfortunatly TMF and The Hits seem to be ramming Complicated & Sk8ta Boi down our throats which kinda gives that overplayed ruined feeling.  Stop it goddamn or ill be forced to watch QVC.  Yes Pat, its avril calm yourself.

10. Jeff Beck - Hi ho silver Lining   Quality cheesy choonage.  People in blackpool seem to do little joiny in bits at times & no one does it at Warwick, so this is a song that invariably makes me look like a fool :-)

There we go my first 10 randoms.  I quite like doing this & shall hopefully keep a more interesting musicy blog from now on.
