There’s only one thing more

There's only one thing more powerful than evil, and that's us. Any questions?

Yes buffy, whats going on with spike, you bitch?.

Here we go again:

1. Kylie Minogue - Celebration: Track off her recently brought out PWL greatest hits. A cover of the 1980 Kool & the Gang classic, this reached no 20 in November 1990. Its pretty much a direct cover, no instrumental changes merely the vocal. Never actually heard Kylie's version before listening to this album. Its all very pleasant and all but nothing amazing. Sound like the type of song you would sing in a encore at a concert, but most def not a single! What was she thinking!
I can't say I can see the whole Kylie attraction at all. Sure she does a good job at being sexy but I cant say I look at her and think hmm if i were a lesbian ... i would.

2. Shakira - Rules: Not heard this before, taken from her Laundry Servicealbum. Starts with a bit more of a rocky feel than her other her, but then seems to turn into something that wouldn't be unusual to find on ABBAs More Gold album although you do have the whole strange accent going on. I dunno Shakira's voice seems totally different when she does the lower notes that the higher. Nat & I found whenever, whereever very amusing & I like Underneath your clothes a lot.

3. Jennifer Lopez - Jenny from the block. The hilarious, but unbelievably catchy latest song from J-lo has to go down (and I feel terrible saying this) as one of my favourite songs from the year. I cannot stand the woman... I think she is a complete & utter ho! But c'mon guys, we gotta remember than she came from the Bronx and stop giving her a hard time. Yeah right :-) Everytime I listen to this song I can't work out whether she is just taking the piss cos the lyrics are that ridiculous or if she really is being serious. Also what the chuff is going on with calling "ain't it funny" a remix and rereleasing it when its neither the same lyrics nor the same song as the former release! Eh eh??? And I am still utterly confused as to how she keeps winning all these sexiest women awards! HOTor NOT

4. Sarah Connor - Let's go back to bed, boy. Featuring TQ, this reached no 16 in Nov 2001. It had a lot of airplay on my beloved Rock FM but haven't heard anything else from her since. Was alright, bit of a fun song. Think she might be big in Europe.. dunno.. dont care!

5. Darren Hayes - What You like. He o savage garden fame. Slightly dubious lyrics. "tell me what you like so tonight i can get it right" hmm what you upto boy! Deciding what to wear.. me thinks not! It sounds nothing like it but this is making think of Walking in Memphis... i'm going insane INSANE! Play some good music you stupid winamp crap!

6. Tina Turner - Private Dancer . Hmm. I get the feeling I should know this. Hmm no 26 in Nov 84. Maybe not. I was only 2! Can't say i'm particularly fascinated by it.

7. Love Inc - You're a superstar Whoo something in the current charts. Number 7 in fact. I got this track back in December 2001 recommended to me via some web forums. Apparantly they are from Canada & this song came out about 3 years ago! Anyway I wasn't too keen on it at first but now like it a lot. Perfect track towards the end of the night... played it at The Syndicate 2 weeks ago & it went down a storm. However, and a year ago, you would never have heard this coming from me... dance has gone far too cheesy atm. Can we please have some decent non-vocal-shit now!

8. Craig David - Hands up in the air. Even the name makes me think this is bad, never mind it being from everyone's favourite name reminding chappie. Has a slight sound of 7 days to it. I really can't stand this dude apart from his new track Hidden Agenda which is sweet. I saw the video for it today, mind you, and I decided that he really is quite foul looking. He has a vague look of a black Alex Grainger although Alex isnt quite as rank!

9. Jakatta feat Seal - My vision ( Summer in White edit) : From MoS Chillout Session 2003. I love this song. Although I think I prefer the normal radio edit. Seal has a lovely voice & I will always remember him from Kiss from a Rose, which was one of my favourite songs when a teenager!

10. Snow - Informer - During a "Argh! I'm djing score in 2 hours download frenzy" Carys told me to download this track. I had no idea that this what it actually was. I remember it well though... number 2 in 1993. But really Informer.. a blah blah blah a licky boom boom down I mean really? WTF?

To burn: Snow - Informer : Remind yourself of the class of the early 1990s and the randomness of the lyrics!
To bin! : Craig David - Hands up in the air Tough toss up btw this & darren hayes. I think David wins though just because he has two first names as his whole name. yes . good valid reason there.

C y'all later! Trix xx
